Terms of Service

1. Who we are

dnb-step (dnb-step.com) is a community platform for the drum & bass step dance scene: events, videos, dancer profiles, training locations, choreography tools, courses, and trainer bookings. It is operated by DNBSTEP OÜ, registry code 17039029, registered in Estonia (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@dnb-step.com.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account, booking a lesson, buying a course, or submitting content, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use those features. We may update these terms as the platform evolves; if a change is material we will announce it on the site, and continuing to use your account after that means you accept the updated terms. Changes do not apply retroactively to purchases you have already made.

3. Your account

You need an account to post content, message other users, book lessons, or join courses. You can sign in with an email address or through Google. You must be at least 13 years old; if you are under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to make purchases. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself — you are responsible for what happens through your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

4. Your content

Content you add — dancer profiles, videos (linked or uploaded), events, meetups, training locations, comments, challenge entries — stays yours. By posting it you give DNBSTEP OÜ a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and promote it on and for the platform (including thumbnails, previews, and links shared on our social channels). This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups for a short period and content others have already shared.

You must have the right to post what you post. For dance videos this includes the consent of identifiable people in the footage. Note that profiles, videos, events, and comments are public — visible to anyone on the internet, including search engines. If you believe content on the platform infringes your rights, email hello@dnb-step.com and we will review and, where justified, remove it.

5. Ground rules

We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules or the law.

6. Private lessons

Trainers on dnb-step offer private lessons. The lesson agreement is between you and the trainer; we provide the platform that connects you, handles booking, and processes payment. When a trainer accepts your booking and a time is agreed, you pay through Stripe Checkout. The price shown at booking is the full price you pay (in EUR unless stated otherwise). The platform keeps a commission out of the trainer’s share — it never increases your price.

Cancellations and refunds: if a paid lesson booking is cancelled — by you or by the trainer — before the lesson takes place, you are refunded in full to your original payment method. Because lessons are booked for a specific date and time, the statutory 14-day withdrawal right for distance purchases does not apply to them (leisure services scheduled for a specific date); our full-refund cancellation policy applies instead. If a lesson does not take place as agreed, contact us and we will sort it out.

7. Courses

Cohort courses are sold either by the trainer running the course — an independent seller, like private lessons — or by DNBSTEP OÜ; the pre-payment confirmation names the seller of the course you are buying. You pay through Stripe Checkout or, where offered, a bank-link payment. The price, dates, and content of the course are shown before you pay.

Withdrawal and refunds: as a consumer you may withdraw from a course purchase within 14 days for a full refund, as long as the course has not yet started. If the course starts within those 14 days, you ask the seller to begin providing it before the withdrawal period ends; if you then withdraw before the course finishes, you are refunded for the part not yet delivered. If a course is cancelled, you get a full refund. To withdraw, email hello@dnb-step.com with your registration details.

8. Trainers

To sell paid lessons or courses you must complete payout onboarding with our payment provider Stripe; the Stripe Connected Account Agreement applies to your payout account. The platform commission is shown in the trainer hub before you publish paid offers. As a trainer you are responsible for the lessons and courses you deliver — their content, safety, and legality — for honouring accepted bookings, and for your own tax and reporting obligations on your earnings.

9. Dance at your own risk

Dancing is physical activity and carries a risk of injury. Assess your own fitness and limits, warm up, and take care of yourself and others. Events, meetups, lessons, and training locations listed on the platform are organised by community members and trainers, not by us (unless we say otherwise) — the organiser is responsible for how they are run.

10. Liability

We provide the platform “as is” and work to keep it available and correct, but we cannot promise it will always be so. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages (such as lost profit or lost data caused by service interruptions), and our total liability towards you is limited to the amounts you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or restricts rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived by agreement.

11. Ending things

You can stop using dnb-step at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@dnb-step.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (content licences for shared copies, liability limits, governing law) survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Estonian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live. If we cannot resolve a dispute directly (do write first — we prefer talking), consumers in Estonia can turn to the Consumer Disputes Committee at the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (ttja.ee); EU consumers can also contact their local European Consumer Centre. Court disputes are resolved in Harju County Court, Estonia, unless mandatory law gives you the courts of your home country.
